Food Sensitivity Testing: Discover Your Triggers and Find Relief with MRT & LEAP

Food Sensitivity Testing

Are you familiar with MRT & LEAP?

What is MRT?

So what makes MRT different than other tests out there?

MRT measures the release of inflammatory chemicals called mediators from white blood cells. The release of these mediators cause the inflammatory symptoms of food sensitivities. MRT is the most accurate food senstivity test with 94.5% sensitivity and 91.7 specifity. It’s also the most comprehensive testing 150 foods and 20 chemicals.

How is MRT different than other food sensitivity tests?

You may have seen other tests out on the market all claiming to identify food sensitivities. So what’s the difference?

The difference is most other tests look at the pathway of IgG antibodies. These antibodies don’t reflect what you’re reactive to but rather foods you’ve been exposed to. IgG antibodies increase as a normal result of eating certain foods. So a positive result can indicate you’ve recently eaten a certain food not necessarily a food causing a reaction.

Additionally, a program called Lifestyle Eating and Performance (LEAP) is followed based on MRT results.

What is LEAP?

LEAP is an elimination diet based on your MRT results.

This means no guessing on what foods you should or shouldn’t be eating.

The LEAP protocol begins by gradually building a healthy and balanced diet based on your lowest reactive foods. Eating your safe, non-inflammatory foods allows your gut to heal and your symptoms to subside. In fact, many people see improvement within the first 2 weeks but for some it may take longer. As your symptoms improve, foods are slowly added back into your diet.

When you receive your MRT results, the lab automatically generates the phases of the diet based on your lowest reactive foods. It’s important to work with a dietitian who is a Certified LEAP Therapist to help you adjust the recommendations to your needs and preferences.

MRT and the LEAP protocol can help you feel better – I’m speaking from personal experience.
