Onion Dip

Try my version of the old classic onion chip. Even better – serve it with homemade chips!

Onion Dip

Ingredients
  1. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  2. 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  3. 1 shallot, chopped
  4. 3 garlic cloves, minced
  5. 2 black garlic cloves
  6. 8 oz. sour cream
  7. 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
  8. 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  9. 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  10. 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  11. 1 1/2 teaspoons celery salt
  12. Hot sauce to taste
  13. salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in fry pan, add onion and shallot.
  2. Stir so olive oil coats the onion and shallot, Cook slowly until they begin to soften and turn brown.
  3. Add garlic and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Once the onion, shallot and garlic have turned golden brown, remove from heat and let cool.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix together sour cream, Greek yogurt, worcestershire sauce,onion powder, paprika, and celery salt.
  6. Once cool, add the onion mixture to the sour cream mixture. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  7. Season with a couple drops of hot sauce and salt and pepper.
  8. Let chill at least 30 minutes before serving.
